Fatherhood and Fitness Checkin

It’s been a few weeks since I last posted about fitness and such.  Probably because I didn’t want to admit that I haven’t lost any weight.  Now having said that I’ll step on the scale again tomorrow for the first time in awhile.  But I know nothing has been lost.  I suspect that something has been gained if I’m honest.  I say that because I put on a pair of pants today that were a bit more snug than I remember.

On the plus side, since I last reported in, I did complete a 5K race.  I hesitate to call it a race because I made it across the finish line in a little over 30 minutes.  I’m glad that I did it and I hope that I can lower that time to around 25 minutes.  That might be a bit much given my age, the altitude and my weight, but that’s what I’d like to do.  Slowly make my way down to 25 minutes.  Right now I have no thoughts of trying to run more.  I’d just rather get fast and get slim.

For all the other fathers out there trying to get fit or loose a few pounds you can do it.  It’s a LOT of works, but you can do it.
